Wass scores first free kick for VCF

The Dane struck for the first time from a set piece for the club

Daniel Wass is one of Valencia CF's new set piece takers this season, and the Dane would score a first free kick for the club on Matchday 3 of the 2020/21 season. After Gonçalo Guedes was fouled by Lopez in the 37th minute of the game against SD Huesca, Wass struck a swinging ball into the area that swerved past everybody and found its way inside the post.

It was Wass' fifth goal for Valencia CF, and his first from a dead ball. It is a side of his game that he had not shown yet in LaLiga, although in Ligue 1 in France he made it one of his calling cards. Betwwen 2011/12 and 2014/15, he scored 8 free kicks for Évian, making him one of the most prolific set piece specialists.
